Best of Birmingham's Coffee and Cakes

As last week's feature went down so well, this week we are bringing back the Best of Birmingham and we are taking a look at the best coffee and cakes in town! Ok, we know we said our treats were a little less chocolatey… but we couldn’t resist!

  1. Medicine Bakery

Medicine is an artisan bakery and café and gallery (when open). They have three venues, and we are lucky enough to have not one but TWO in the city centre (one on New street and one in the Mailbox with the other in Wolverhampton. They are the masters of all thing’s coffee and cake! They have it all, but if we were to recommend one thing of the menu it would have to be their Cronuts (Yes,that’s exactly what it sounds like a croissant donut INSANE) with new delicious flavours each week! They know what their doing!

If you don’t know this place, then trust us you are gonna wanna get to know!  

They are now open EVERYDAY 10am – 5pm, have a click and collect service AND have created an outside seating area outside the new street store!

 

  1. The Earlybird Bakery

Situated on Kings Heath High Street The Earlybird Bakery is must visit. You won’t be able to miss it… it’s the one with the queue outside, but trust us, it’s worth the wait! Their pastries and cakes are baked in house daily and their twice baked croissants/ pan au chocolates are the one! They work with local roasters Hundred House Coffee to supply the most exciting speciality coffee and the have the best hazelnut hot chocolate that we have EVER tasted. They are open for takeaway coffee, cakes & toasties every Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 10am– 2pm and offer a pre-order / delivery service!

 

  1. Pause @ Artefact

In the heart of Stirchley, you will find Pause the pop-up coffee shop that has taken up residency in Artefact and we think it is the perfect destination to slow down a moment and take a pause! They have created something of beauty… a CINNABUFFIN (a cinnamon bun muffin) in 5 flavours, the OG, Oreo, Biscoff, Blueberry Maple and Chocolate Peanut & Pretzel!! We are drooling! Oh, and, they have just launched The Pause Origins Tasting box, their first coffee tasting event. Rory will be leading a 90 minute class where you will explore coffee from different origins and learn how to taste coffee like a pro!

They are open:

Monday – Tuesday: 8.30am – 2pm

Wednesday – Sunday: 10am – 4pm

 

  1. Coffee Tales

Coffee Tales is a must visit if you are in the Jewellery Quarter! It’s your friendly neighbourhood coffee place. With mouth-watering individual cake slices, brownies, biscoff cakesicles and flapjacks just few regulars that feature on the countertop, they also have an amazing selection of speciality teas and coffees! They offer an amazing afternoon tea, door stop delivery service which are perfect for that special occasion!

They are offering a delivery service, click and collect and are open for takeaway coffee, cakes: Monday – Friday: 8.30am – 4.30pm and Saturday – Sunday: 9am – 4.30pm
