Clean Air Zone Comes To Birmingham

From 1st June 2021, a Clean Air Zone will be coming to our city to help reduce its air pollution levels.

This important initiative by Birmingham City Council aims to discourage high-polluting vehicles from entering certain parts of the city, including outside our very-own arena.

No vehicle is banned from the zone, but those which do not comply will incur a daily charge if travelling within the area, which covers all roads within the A4540 Middleway Ring Road.

Utilita Arena Birmingham and our car parks are situated within this zone, which means charges will apply to visitors using vehicles that are non-compliant. To check your car, click here.

The daily charges, which range from £8 for a private car to £50 for HGVs, will apply from midnight to midnight and be payable from six days before the day of travel to six days afterwards. Vehicles will be monitored by automatic number plate recognition cameras and failure to pay on time will result in a £120 fine.

Further information on payments are set to be released soon. This blog will be updated once the information is available.
