We’ll be in touch with everything you need to know about the show, the venue and your tickets real soon, plus, we’ve got a few Q&A’s listed a bit further down which will put your mind at ease. If you’re joining us for a show before 15th April, then we’ll still be Arena Birmingham, so your original tickets are sound to use.
Secondly, please say a BIG hello to Utilita Arena Birmingham!
Over the last few years, Britain’s leading smart Pay As You Go (PAYG) energy provider, Utilita, have established themselves within the UK live events industry. They have partnered with a number of major music festivals including Parklife, TRNSMT, Creamfields, V Festival, Bestival and Camp Bestival – as well as their partnership with Newcastle Arena, which became Utilita Arena Newcastle back in 2017. Fast forward to 2020 and Utilita are now getting ready to add our iconic venue to their roster!
Our reign as Arena Birmingham has been a fantastic one, bringing the likes of Ariana Grande, Jack Whitehall, Take That, Cher, Muse, The 1975, Madness, KISS and loads more to the city for some simply unforgettable experiences – and with Utilita on board, we’re set for even more incredible events right here in Birmingham!
Things might start looking a bit different over the next couple of weeks – you may notice some snazzy new Utilita Arena Birmingham signs being installed around the venue, our new logo will start appearing on tour posters and our name will begin cropping up more and more until we officially switch over on 15th April at Harry Styles’ show. Not a bad gig to mark the occasion, eh?
Anyway, we want to make sure you lovely lot are fully in the loop with what’s going on here, so, we’ve put together a couple of answers to some questions we just know you’ll want to hear about. If there’s something we’ve not listed below, then just tweet us your q’s to @ArenaBirmingham and we’ll do our best to help!
Have a butchers at this…
WHY IS ARENA BIRMINGHAM CHANGING ITS NAME?
The name reflects a new multi-year commercial partnership with energy company Utilita.
AT WHAT POINT SHOULD I START USING THIS NAME?
We will take on our new name, Utilita Arena Birmingham, on Wednesday 15th April 2020. Until then, feel free to keep calling us Arena Birmingham – but afterwards, try and use our new name!
WHY DID ARENA BIRMINGHAM CHOOSE UTILITA?
We chose Utilita because it’s a fast-growing company with customer experience at its heart – just like us. It was a no brainer.
WHO ARE UTILITA?
Utilita is the UK’s only energy provider that was created to help households use less gas and electricity. By rolling out smart meters in 90% of its customers’ homes – and counting - Utilita puts people in better control of the energy they use, meaning they waste less, and spend less.
WHAT DOES THE PARTNERSHIP INVOLVE? WHAT BENEFITS WILL CUSTOMERS GET?
Utilita will support us to continue giving you an exceptional customer experience as soon as you walk through our doors! Utilita will take over our building, both inside and out, and you’ll see experiential promos, activities and on-site competitions popping up on show nights!
Also, if you’re a Utilita customer, then you’ll have the chance of getting ticketing and hospitality experiences, receive priority booking and experiences that money can’t buy. How good is that?
HOW WILL THIS WORK ALONGSIDE THE UTILITA ARENA IN NEWCASTLE?
We’ll be called Utilita Arena Birmingham, and they’ll be Utilita Arena Newcastle. We are two separate entities, with Utilita Arena Birmingham owned by NEC Group and Utilita Arena Newcastle owned by ASM Global – we have just both partnered with Utilita.
There will be a clear distinction between the two brands, and because we’re quite far away from each other – we’re not too worried that you’ll go to the wrong venue! *fingers crossed*
So for now, we’re still Arena Birmingham, but come 15th April 2020 we will officially begin our journey as Utilita Arena Birmingham! All that’s left to do is sit back, relax and bring on Utilita era!
