First of all, shout out to all of the winners and nominees at this year's BRIT Awards - the night dedicated to British music highlighted just how talented we are as a nation and it was really hard to watch without feeling a huge sense of pride, so congrats to all involved! As for the show itself, well, it was one of the BEST. Hosted by the hilarious Jack Whitehall, we witnessed some memorable acceptance speeches, some incredible outfits AND some simply iconic performances.

If you missed last night's BRIT Awards, here's everything you need to know...

THE BIG BRIT WINNERS
Lewis Capaldi scooped a brace last night after taking home gongs for Best New Artist and Song of the Year for Someone You Loved, two awards which pretty much define the year the Scottish singer has had. Mabel (who opened the show with an AMAZING performance) won Female Solo Artist of the Year, with Stormzy taking the Male Solo Artist award. After cleaning up at the NME Awards last week, Foals were crowned the BRITs Best Group and if you've ever seen the boys live, then you'll know why they won...if you haven't seen them live, you can right here in Birmingham this May *shameless plug*. The big award for the night went to Dave, who won the Mastercard Album Of The Year for his Psychodrama LP. Please, if you only listen to one album today, make sure it's this. You won't regret it.

As for the International awards, Billie Eilish and Tyler, the Creator took home the Female and Male Solo Artist respectively - and no-one can argue with that!

LET'S TALK ABOUT THE PERFORMANCES
The people behind the BRITs decided to reduce the amount of awards this year, swapping the time spent on acceptance speeches for ACTUAL MUSIC time - and what a great move that was! We were treated to some iconic performances, from an all singing, all dancing mash-up from Lizzo, Hans Zimmer, and Johnny Marr accompanying Billie Eilish on stage for No Time To Die and Harry Styles (and his quite simply inspiring outfit) giving us a perfect rendition of his latest single Falling. Lewis Capaldi, Mabel, Stormzy, Celeste and Rod Stewart also took to the stage to deliver pitch perfect performances, but the highlight of the night HAS to be Dave's powerful execution of Black. The South London rapper sat in front of piano which projected hard-hitting imagery and text, coinciding with the lyrics he was spitting on the mic. He addressed issues around race, Grenfell Tower, politics and everything in between - and he did it beautifully.

ACCEPTANCE SPEECHES...
Lewis Capaldi used his acceptance speech to quash the rumours that Someone You Loved was written about his ex-girlfriend (and current Love Island star) Paige Turley. He was actually about his sweet Gradma who is sadly no longer with us 😢 how sad; "It's actually about my grandmother who sadly passed away a few years ago. I hope to God ITV don't contact her to be on a reality dating show. Thanks to my grandma... er, I guess, for dying. I'm sorry!"

Stormzy and Dave used their moments to thank the people behind the scenes who've contributed to their success, with Big Mike saying “To be the best male, I have got the most incredible females in my team. You lot are the greatest, the best male is nothing without the best females. I love you guys. To every single person who supported me, I love you. Thank you guys.

FINALLY...HAS ANYONE SEEN GREG JAMES?
The BBC R1 Breakfast host failed to turn up for his 6:30am show this morning ans was last spotted with Yannis from Foals - i'm guessing the after-party has something to do with this?
