As Utilita Energy are now part of our family, we thought it would only be right to introduce them properly to you guys! Take a look at the journey of this pioneering company, their handy energy saving app and a bunch of reasons as to why we think they are so great!

In case you missed it, earlier this month, we officially turned off the Arena Birmingham lights and flicked the switch on a brand new era for our venue...the Utilita Arena Birmingham era! Over the last few year's, Britain’s leading smart Pay As You Go (PAYG) energy provider, Utilita, have established themselves within the UK live events industry after partnering with a number of major music festivals – as well as their partnership with Newcastle Arena, which became Utilita Arena Newcastle back in 2017. Fast forward to the present day and Utilita have just added our iconic venue to their roster!

 

But who exactly are Utilita Energy and what are they all about? Sit back, relax and take 5 minutes to go through our whistle stop tour of our newest members of the family!

 

For anyone unfamiliar with Utilita, they are one of Britain’s Top 10 energy suppliers and a market leader in Smart Pay As You Go Energy. Utilita installed the nation’s first set of dual-fuel smart meters in 2008. Now, more than 90% of their customers have a smart meter – giving them greater control of their energy usage and spend.

 

Giving back is also important to Utilita. That’s why the incredible team over there have partnered with a host of organisations and charities – including The Prince’s Trust - to make a difference in the communities they serve. They also supply almost 800,000 customers across the length and breadth of Britain and continue to innovate and invest in technology – such as their award-winning app - to ensure the very best service to customers.

In light of the current COVID-19 pandemic, at Utilita we are doing all we can to ensure our customers remain on supply. We understand some of them are vulnerable and need our help. 

 

Apart from essential travel, the UK is under strict guidelines to remain at home for the foreseeable. In these testing times, support is needed, so if you or any other Utilita customers you know can download our My Utilita app it will allow you to top-up from the comfort of your own home.

 

For the not-so-tech-savvy, or if you just need help to use the app, you can allow a relative or friend to top-up for you. They simply need to download the app - with your permission - register using your account details. Don't worry, they can only top-up your meter for you if you're struggling to do so. This doesn't mean they can take over your account.
