Frank's all-star Lost Evenings Festival took place last weekend at the iconic London Roadhouse...and it looked like an absolute blast

Last year’s mini-festival bagged the Best Independent Festival gong at the 2017 Aim Awards, meaning this year had a lot to live up to – and it delivered big time!

The four-day festival featured some of the biggest upcoming talents, as well as a few mates of Frank Turner! The likes of Felix Hagan & The Family, Stick in the Wheel, The Pearl Harts, PD Liddle, The Lion and the Wolf and of course, Frank Turner and the Sleeping Souls.

Frank’s set was incredible, giving fans a little something from all stages of his career, mixing his solo stuff with his Sleeping Souls material…and it sounded amazing. Frank also performed Front Crawl live for the first time since 2015 as well as Hold Your Tongue, Better Half and A Love Worth Keeping before closing the set on Photosynthesis.

If this is a flavour of what we can expect from Frank’s 2019 tour, then we’re in for a treat!

During the festival, Turner paid tribute to his late friend and lead singer of the band Frightened Rabbit, who sadly passed away that weekend; "I had some sad news this morning about my friend Scott Hutchison from the band Frightened Rabbit. Scott played this festival last year, on the Sunday morning we sat out back and drank beers and talked and played songs. And I don't want to talk about death today, ladies and gentleman. I want to talk about life. Because he was one of my favourite people in the world. I love that guy.”

Frank was clearly emotionally and looked as if he was still processing the information himself, but his performance was the perfect tribute to his friend and the crowd were in great voice marking the occasion in the best possible way.

He then went on to perform The Modern Leper, arguably one of the best known songs by Frightened Rabbit. You can watch a clip of it below…
